Not tonight sweetie, I have a headache

Sounds familiar? An excuse you find yourself using fairly frequently? Well, it would seem we as women can expect to have that same excuse thrown at us too from our male counterparts.

Experts are reporting a sharp rise in the number of husbands/boyfriends/partners who have simply “gone off” passion. The rise in depression, in men, following our increasingly stressful work environment may be to blame, the same experts are saying.

Relationship Counsellors report a 40 per cent increase in male clients admitting that, despite being physically able to have sex, they do not want to. “They tend to be men in their thirties, forties and fifties and married,” they say.

This is a fairly serious issue. Psychosexual dysfunction, the man has gone off sex itself, rather than having relationship problems, would seem to be the root of this sticky wicket.

Of course, as we know, men have a hard time talking about their emotions. So, since stress is cumulative, the issues pile on, one on top of the other, and without the emotional release that we women allow ourselves that men don’t, the men tend to end up depressed, and unable to enjoy sex. If you can’t switch off from the stress of work, you can’t relax, and you don’t feel up to having sex.

So, in order to do away with those excuses that your man may have been touting lately, you need to get him to talk. Give him a massage.. ask him about his day. Coax it out of him. What’s bothering him? Can you help? Offer solutions (men LOVE solutions)? Failing that.. well, there are always sex toys. :)

You can certainly improve your sex life using some yoga, yoga helps the body relax, meaning also that your hormones (sex hormones) relax as well, and therefore increasing/improving libido.
