Josef Fritzl imprisoned his daughter Elisabeth at the age of 18, using her as a sex slave, and fathering seven children (one of whom died shortly after birth) with her.
Before he imprisoned Elisabeth, he had fathered another 7 children with his wife, Rosemarie.
Chief investigator Franz Polzer yesterday said: “His motive was to recreate the situation he had with his first family, the legal family, but this time with a good looking young daughter.”
By the time Elisabeth, 42, was rescued from her prison she was grey and is said to have aged “far beyond her years”.
Detectives now fear that Kerstin, Elisabeth’s oldest daughter, became Fritzl’s next victim as her mother became less attractive to him. (Yea, because HE is just the bomb! @@)
Fritzl’s lawyer Rudolf Mayer said his client has a serious mental disorder and that anyone with that kind of psychological illness “didn’t choose” to do what police allege.
Oh yea? Well, isn’t that a convenient excuse.
Fritzl’s lawyer continued to say that experts will have to examine him, and decide whether or not he can be certified as insane. Well, somehow, I don’t think that’s such a difficult nut to crack.. however, what also needs to be measured is how truly evil this man is. The problem with him being deemed certifiably insane is that he’ll go to a psychiatric unit instead of prison. I rather think he deserves to be let loose among the general prison population. Don’t you?
“I believe that the trigger was a mental disorder, because I can’t imagine that someone has sex with his own daughter without having a mental disorder,” Mayer said.
What if he isn’t insane? What if it’s just plain old-fashioned evil at play? Can Mr. Mayer continue to defend this man? I know I couldn’t.
The 73-year-old is refusing to come out of his cell after fellow inmates threatened to kill him.
Not so tough now, is he? Freakin wuss.
